Senior Estimator – Building Envelope Specialist (Hybrid)
📍 Location: Roundwood, Wicklow (Hybrid – Office & Remote)

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist contractor in the building envelope sector who is looking to appoint a skilled and commercially-minded Senior Estimator to lead their Estimating Department.
Based in Wicklow with hybrid working options, this is a pivotal role that offers the chance to shape bid strategy, drive pricing accuracy, and collaborate on major envelope packages including façades, cladding, curtain walling, roofing, and doors.
🔍 Your Role:
* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of estimators
* Oversee the full tender process, from early engagement to bid submission
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to determine scope and cost implications
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for complex construction projects
* Assess subcontractor quotes, material costs, and labour projections
* Carry out cost and risk analysis, providing input into value engineering and alternative solutions
* Liaise with project managers, designers, engineers, and clients to clarify technical aspects and ensure aligned costings
* Support project handovers and provide cost oversight during pre-construction phases
* Stay up to date with market conditions, construction costs, and innovations in estimating and BIM
* Promote continuous improvement within the team and help train junior estimators
✅ What You’ll Bring:
Essential:
* Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
* Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in estimating within the construction sector
* Strong understanding of building envelope systems: façades, cladding, roofing, curtain walling, doors
* Expert in quantity take-offs, pricing strategies, and cost modelling
* Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and technical drawings
* Skilled with estimating software and tools (CAD, BIM, digital take-off systems)
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Proven leadership ability and experience managing estimating teams
Desirable:
* Ability to work with and navigate 3D models and BIM environments
* Familiarity with local building codes and regulations
* Experience in value engineering and cost optimisation strategies
