About the Company:
Our client is a leading construction and contracting company known for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. They are now seeking an experienced Accounts / Finance professional with a strong background in the contracting or construction sector to join their growing finance team.
The Role:
You will play a key role in supporting the finance function, focusing on payment applications, project accounting, and managing financial transactions between subcontractors and main contractors.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a project-based environment and understands the unique financial processes within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, process, and submit payment applications to main contractors.
*
Manage and reconcile applications for payment (AIPs) and ensure accuracy in valuations and retention deductions.
*
Use Payapps or similar platforms to manage payment submissions and approvals.
*
Process supplier invoices, subcontractor payments, and project-related financial records.
*
Assist with month-end procedures, accruals, and reporting.
*
Liaise with project managers, quantity surveyors, and site teams to ensure financial data accuracy.
*
Support general accounting duties, including reconciliations, journals, and budget tracking.
Key Requirements:
*
Previous experience within a contracting or construction company (essential).
*
Strong understanding of payment applications, valuations, and retentions.
*
Familiarity with Payapps or similar payment processing systems.
*
Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
*
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
*
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and Excel.
