Company Overview
An established and growing Fire & Security specialist is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Fire and Security Design / Estimator to join its design team.
The business delivers integrated Fire and Security solutions across a wide range of commercial environments, working on technically complex projects where quality of design, accurate estimating and strong stakeholder management are critical.

Role Overview
This is a senior position combining technical design, estimating, commercial awareness and team leadership.
You will be responsible for qualifying incoming enquiries, determining which opportunities are commercially and technically suitable to pursue, and producing accurate multi-discipline designs and quotations.
Alongside managing your own workload, you'll oversee and distribute work across the wider design team, supporting colleagues and ensuring tender submissions are delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, manufacturers, suppliers, clients and operational teams, ultimately taking ownership of the design process from initial enquiry through to contract award and handover.
Key Responsibilities
* Survey and design Fire and Security systems across multiple disciplines
* Qualify incoming enquiries and assess suitability for quotation
* Produce detailed designs, calculations and technical submissions
* Compile complete tender packages including specifications, drawings and supporting documentation
* Review technical specifications and establish client requirements
* Research suitable systems and components
* Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information and pricing
* Carry out site surveys throughout the UK
* Support and mentor other members of the design team
* Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance
* Lead design-to-operations handover meetings following contract award
Experience & Requirements
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical Fire & Security knowledge with commercial awareness and leadership ability.
You'll ideally have:
* Strong knowledge of Fire and Security systems and relevant technical standards
* Experience producing Fire and Security designs and quotations
* Experience working across multiple disciplines
* Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project requirements
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Previous experience supporting, mentoring or managing members of a design team
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to prioritise multiple tenders and deadlines
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Experience using CAD or similar design software such as Bluebeam (desirable)
* FIA Design qualification or equivalent (desirable)
Systems Experience
Experience with enterprise-level systems would be highly advantageous, particularly:

AXIS
Honeywell PRO42
Galaxy
Aiphone
The level of experience across these systems will be reflected in the overall salary package.
