Job Description

Location: Fully remote (UK preferred; hybrid/office options in Liverpool or Edinburgh available) Salary: Up to £80,000 per year (depending on experience) Type: Full‑time, permanent Neogen is recruiting on behalf of a fast‑growing procurement automation / purchase‑to‑pay SaaS scaleup. Our client builds procurement intelligence and spend‑control software that helps organisations streamline purchasing, approvals and vendor management. They serve mid‑market and enterprise customers and are scaling their engineering team to deliver reliable, secure cloud services and modern web applications. Role overview You will own full‑stack features end‑to‑end: design and implement backend services in Go, build responsive React frontends, integrate third‑party systems, and help maintain CI/CD, observability and security. You’ll work closely with product, design and customer success to deliver production‑grade software. Key responsibilities - Design, implement and maintain backend services and APIs in Go (Golang). - Build responsive, accessible React UIs using modern patterns (hooks, state management). - Integrate with external systems (ERP, eProcurement, SSO, payment providers). - Own tests (unit, integration), CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. - Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise performance, reliability and security. - Participate in architecture decisions, code reviews and mentoring. - Produce clear documentation and support customer escalations when required. Must‑have skills & experience - 4+ years professional software development experience. - Strong production experience with Go (concurrency, modules, idiomatic patterns). - Solid React experience (functional components, hooks, state management such as Redux/Context). - Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful/gRPC APIs. - Good SQL knowledge and experience with a relational DB (Postgres preferred). - Experience with containerisation (Docker); Kubernetes desirable. - Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.). - Automated testing experience (unit/integration/e2e). - Good engineering practices: code reviews, TDD/BDD, observability (metrics/logs/tracing). - Strong communication skills and ability to work asynchronously in a remote team. Nice‑to‑have - Experience with procurement, finance or ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics). - Experience with TypeScript, Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworks. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and serverless patterns. - Knowledge of security best practices and SSO (SAML/OAuth/OIDC). - Leadership or mentoring experience.
