Senior Engineer - Ground Investigation
Location: Hamilton / On-site
Hours: 45 hours per week
We are supporting a leading geotechnical and ground investigation business in the appointment of a Senior Engineer. This role involves leading ground investigation projects, providing technical expertise, and supporting the development of junior engineers.
The Role
Lead and manage ground investigation projects from start to completion.
Provide technical guidance, training and mentorship to engineering staff.
Ensure quality assurance across all site works, data collection and reporting.
Support Health & Safety documentation including risk assessments and method statements.
Collect and interpret geological and geotechnical data.
Produce factual, GIR and interpretative reports to high standards.
Assist with project scheduling, tender preparation and client communication.
About You
Knowledge:
Ground investigation techniques, soil mechanics, geology.
Industry specifications, standards and contract documents (ICC GI, NEC3/4).
CDM 2015 Regulations.
Skills:
Strong communication, organisation and leadership abilities.
Confident decision-maker with excellent client management skills.
High attention to quality and accuracy in reporting.
Experience:
Background in the ground investigation industry.
Experience running projects and managing stakeholders.
Strong report writing skills (factual, GIR, interpretative).
Qualifications:
Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline.
Salary & Benefits
c. £45,000 depending on experience
