Senior Healthcare Assistant

Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Salary: £14.21 per hour plus £1.37 Market Enhancement (£15.58 per hour)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Please note: A Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification is essential. This role includes weekend and bank holiday working.

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our specialist team at Stagenhoe Neurological Care Centre in Hertfordshire.

As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while providing supervision, coaching and support to junior colleagues. About the Role

Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate and effective care that promotes independence, dignity and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  * Coordinating and delivering high-quality care and support to service users

  * Delegating and overseeing care tasks while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment

  * Supporting individuals to exercise choice, independence and control over their care

  * Promoting dignity, respect and person-centred practice at all times

  * Supervising, coaching and mentoring junior team members

  * Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and relevant legislation

  * Completing mandatory training and supporting continuous improvement

  * Encouraging feedback and helping to enhance the service user experience

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  * Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (essential)

  * At least 2 years' relevant care experience

  * Experience working effectively within a care team

  * Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  * Good IT and computer literacy skills

  * Experience of leadership, supervision, coaching or mentoring

  * Understanding of audit processes and quality standards

  * A compassionate, proactive and person-centred approach to care
