Job Description

We’re recruiting on behalf of a large and well-established public sector organisation in Wiltshire for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join their Employee Relations team. Based in Trowbridge, this role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of a large organisation supporting managers and leaders across multiple services. You’ll play a key role in resolving complex employee relations matters and helping shape effective people practices across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys complex casework, stakeholder management, and making a real impact within a large workforce. The Role As a Senior HR Advisor, you’ll provide specialist advice and support to managers on a wide range of complex employee relations issues, ensuring matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment law and organisational policy. Your responsibilities will include: * Managing and advising on complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and safeguarding matters * Providing expert HR guidance to senior managers and leaders across the organisation * Supporting organisational change programmes, including restructures and TUPE transfers * Liaising with legal teams on complex or high-risk employment matters * Supporting employment tribunal preparation and providing evidence where required * Building strong relationships with trade unions and internal stakeholders * Mentoring and supporting more junior HR colleagues on complex cases * Delivering briefings and guidance to managers on HR policies and best practice * Contributing to the development and improvement of HR policies and procedures * You’ll work as part of a collaborative HR team based in Trowbridge, supporting services across Wiltshire. About You We’re looking for an experienced HR professional who is confident advising senior stakeholders and managing complex casework. You will ideally have: * CIPD Level 5 in HR (or working towards Level 7) * Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases * A solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice * Experience working in a unionised or large organisational environment * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * The ability to influence, challenge and build strong working relationships * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Experience within local government, education or the wider public sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
