Job Description

Our people are what make our family great. As a proud family-run business, we see childcare as a profession, not just a job. We are passionate about helping our teams grow and be the best they can be. Kids Planet is a prominent nursery group in the United Kingdom, currently operating at more than 280 locations. Established in 2008 with only four sites, the company has experienced substantial growth and is continuing to evolve the way data informs operational decisions across the business. We are now seeking a Senior Insight Analyst to lead advanced reporting and insight across new Kids Planet Territory regions. The role will turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that help regional and operational leaders improve performance, identify opportunities and deliver measurable, data-driven change. This is a high-impact role within a growing Technology and Data function, working closely with the CTO, Data team and senior stakeholders to strengthen the quality, consistency and commercial value of insight across Kids Planet. Role purpose: To design, deliver and embed advanced reporting, KPI analysis and insight-led recommendations that support Territory regions to make better decisions and drive stronger business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Advanced reporting and analytics: Develop and maintain high-quality Power BI dashboards, performance reports and analytical tools that provide clear, reliable and actionable insight for Territory regions and central teams. Territory performance insight: Partner with operational leaders to understand regional performance, identify trends, surface risks and opportunities, and translate data into practical improvement actions. KPI development and governance: Support the design, definition and rollout of KPIs across the new KP Territory regions, ensuring metrics are consistent, trusted and aligned to business priorities. Data-driven change: Use insight to challenge, influence and support decisions, helping stakeholders move beyond reporting into measurable improvement and stronger operational outcomes. Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with the CTO, Data team, regional leaders and departments across the business to understand requirements, prioritise insight needs and deliver reporting solutions that meet stakeholder expectations. Data quality and validation: Use SQL and source-system knowledge to interrogate, validate and reconcile data so reporting is accurate, robust and right first time. Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate reporting, improve data literacy and embed better use of insight across the organisation. Compliance and governance: Ensure reporting and analytics activity remains compliant with relevant data protection regulations, internal governance standards and appropriate data access controls. Key Deliverables A clear suite of Territory-level Power BI dashboards and reports that provide consistent visibility of performance across the new KP Territory regions. Insight packs and commentary that explain what the data means, highlight key drivers and recommend practical actions for operational improvement. Improved KPI definitions, reporting standards and governance so leaders can make decisions from a single, trusted view of performance. Regular engagement with stakeholders to ensure reports remain relevant, adopted and aligned to business priorities. Qualifications and Experience Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Data Analytics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in a BI, insight, analytics or data role, with evidence of delivering reporting that supports business decisions and operational change. Technical skills: Strong capability in Power BI, SQL and data modelling. Experience with data warehousing, data transformation and reporting governance would be advantageous. Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and explain findings in a clear and practical way. Commercial and operational awareness: Ability to connect data insight to business priorities, regional performance and measurable improvement opportunities. Communication skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence presenting insight and recommendations to colleagues at different levels of the organisation. Personal Attributes Insight-led: Able to move beyond producing reports and focus on what the data means, why it matters and what action should follow. Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, quality and reliability. Influential: Able to build credibility with stakeholders and use evidence to support effective decision-making. Curious and proactive: Naturally inquisitive, confident exploring data and willing to challenge assumptions in a constructive way. Results-driven: Focused on delivering measurable outcomes and supporting business success. Collaborative: Enjoys working as part of a team and building strong relationships across Technology, Data and Operations. Adaptable: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organisation where priorities may evolve as the business changes
