Senior Instrument Designer – Macclesfield / Hybrid
Contract: 3 months minimum | Salary: Competitive | Location: Macclesfield / Hybrid
DATS Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Designer to join our team on a short-term contract. The Senior Instrument Designer will be responsible for providing expert Instrument Design and Consulting Services to support local project delivery in the pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Instrument Designer, you will work closely with a multi-discipline design team and Project Manager to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of projects.
*
The Senior Instrument Designer will review customer requirements, produce reports, concept designs, and detailed designs (typically RIBA 2-4).
*
Produce documentation in line with defined standards and liaise with equipment and design subcontractors.
*
Lead improvement initiatives and interface with Mechanical, Process, HVAC, and Civil disciplines.
*
Attend site at least three days per week to support project execution.
Candidate Requirements:
*
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant design role, including electrical installation design for pharmaceutical projects.
*
HNC or Degree in a technical engineering discipline; professional membership desirable.
*
Knowledge of E&I design best practices, CDM Regulations 2015, and Functional Safety (IEC61511).
*
Experience in hazardous area design, including intrinsically safe calculations and inspection schedules.
*
Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
*
Proficient in AutoCAD LT and Microsoft Office Suite.
