Job Description
R&D Senior Laboratory Technician
This is a 12-month contract position located in Witney, OX29 0YL, with a salary of £29,505 per annum. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm.
Role Summary
The R&D Senior Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting critical processes and product testing within the R&D Sensor Laboratories. This role involves ensuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated, and that the lab remains in an audit-ready state.
A key part of the position is supporting R&D projects by assisting scientists and engineers with product development, including the scheduling and testing of experimental sensor lots. The role requires a high degree of adaptability to new and complex test techniques due to a constantly evolving product pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting prototype testing and product builds.
Maintaining equipment and materials, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for lab processes.
Creating and updating area procedures and other associated documentation.
Assisting R&D project teams and scientists with product development activities.
Providing detailed project feedback to the R&D Sensor Area Lead.
Supporting continuous development of new sensor products.
Supervising the laboratories in the absence of area leads.
Supporting Quality, Compliance, and EHS initiatives.
