Our client, an established aerospace manufacturing firm in Sunbury-on-Thames, require an experienced Senior Manager - Quality to join their multi-disciplined team.
Candidates would need to have lived & worked in the UK for 5+ years and be eligible for BPSS security clearance.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Business & Quality Management System including all processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives including RCCA. Daily tasks include developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, managing corrective actions, and liaising with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues. The role also involves mentoring and developing the quality team to achieve excellence in all quality-related activities.
What the role of the Senior Manager - Quality entails:
Some of the main duties of the Senior Manager - Quality will include:
Leadership: Lead and manage the quality team, providing direction, training, and support to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Quality Management Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and AS9100, to support organizational goals
Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to enhance product quality and reduce waste
Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring the safety and reliability of aerospace products
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality issues, provide feedback, and improve processes
Reporting: Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement with plans and timescales for delivery
Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs for employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices
What experience you need to be the successful Senior Manager - Quality:
Proven experience of working in a Senior Quality Management role, ideally as part of senior leadership / reporting to director level.
Significant previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent understanding of Quality Control
Microsoft Office skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets.
Excellent knowledge of continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong problem solving & analysis skills, particularly at a strategic level for business operations
Good command of the English language and very articulate
Good presentation and communication skills at all levels, both externally and internally.
Literate and numerical aptitude.
