SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with proven experience, advanced skills, and a deep understanding of electrical engineering, following a span of project wins.
What we offer:
* £55.00 per hour
* 6-month initial contract with opportunity for long-term work
* Freelance contract (outside IR35)
Company Overview:
Our client is a specialist engineering consultancy with over 15 years in the market.
They are specialists in the Data Centre sector and as such offers an opportunity to work solely within the Mission Critical space.
Main Responsibilities:
* The senior mechanical engineer will lead or support full data centre design projects from early stages (Stage 3 or 4 onwards).
* The senior mechanical engineer will work closely with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders (developers, contractors, and clients).
* The senior mechanical engineer will oversee and coordinate technical design deliverables, ensuring project timelines and quality standards are met.
* The senior mechanical engineer will provide expert input across mechanical or electrical systems based on project needs.
* The senior mechanical engineer will report progress and technical issues directly to senior management.
* The senior mechanical engineer will collaborate across global teams as needed.
Skills and background:
* Proven experience delivering large-scale data centre projects.
* Background in electrical or mechanical engineering, depending on role.
* Ability to own a project from the design stage through execution.
* Strong understanding of full design lifecycle and technical specifications.
* Comfortable leading teams or taking full ownership of project sections.
* Experience across multiple data centre builds is a strong advantageBefore You Apply
