The Role
As a Mechanical & Piping Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering and design solutions within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects — from concept through execution.
You’ll ensure designs meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards while leading design reviews and ensuring your work integrates seamlessly with other engineering disciplines.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Deliver mechanical and piping design within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, standards, and specifications.
Check, approve, and maintain quality in all design deliverables.
Participate in internal and client design reviews, ensuring design acceptance.
Provide expert technical support and make informed, independent engineering decisions.
Collaborate across disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I, Process) to ensure consistency.
Manage design changes through proper control procedures.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you
Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, preferably to Degree level (BEng or MEng)
Demonstrable experience as Lead / Senior / Principal Engineer, in multi-discipline engineering projects
Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent institute (Preferable)
Have a working knowledge of general engineering standards and specification (Essential) and IGEM standards and specifications (Preferred)
Knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical engineering and implementing these in design
Understanding and knowledge of the other disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I and Process)
Able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience with the production and/or having input to mechanical specifications, basis of design, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, 3D models, schedules, design risk assessments and directive compliance assessments
Experience with the application of piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standards
Experience working to the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR)
Result oriented. You are only satisfied after your design is accepted by the client, you delivered top quality and the client is very satisfied
You plan and organise your activities before you begin tasks. You understand the dependencies of the engineering activities within mechanical discipline, but also the dependencies between mechanical and the other disciplines. You have a ‘one time right’ mentality
Have an appreciation with the main mechanical design packages including for example, AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II
You understand the importance of change control procedures
You can develop and effectively present design packages, ensuring it meets the scope of the project
You are able to prepare for chairing design review meetings
Able to meet UK security clearance requirements (Preferable)
