You'll be joining a long-established and highly respected Building Services contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical projects. The company works across a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, retail, custodial, and commercial buildings, primarily in the Midlands. As a Mechanical Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for mechanical building services projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Visiting sites to assess and cost mechanical works
Preparing estimates using Excel or similar software
Requesting and managing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Reviewing drawings and specifications to clarify any uncertainties
Creating detailed cost breakdowns including materials, labour, and travel
Participating in internal bid reviews and client meetings
Writing clear and professional tender documents
Supporting project handovers to the delivery team
Tracking tender progress and following up for feedbackWhat you'll need to succeed
BTEC ONC/HNC in Building Services or equivalent
Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths
Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
Good understanding of mechanical systems in buildings
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Commercial awareness and ability to suggest value engineering ideasWhat you'll get in return
