Our client, a leading company in the construction sector specialising in critical infrastructure, is currently seeking an experienced and talented Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performing project teams in London. This is a permanent position based in Canary Wharf, offering an exciting opportunity for career progression and involvement in high-profile projects with blue-chip clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Track project deliverables and ensure that commercial and administrative systems, budgets and cost control procedures are utilised.
Manage commercial teams to drive successful delivery of all projects and lead the commercial planning and implementation of projects.
Carry out an in-depth review of all tender documentation and identify any risk or potential gains.
Review and approve selected contractors/suppliers.
Ensure contractual correspondence in accordance with contract terms, including detailed analysis and documentation of EOT notifications and claims.
Continuously monitor the project to ensure it stays on time and in budget.
Assist with and manage the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
Report on actual costs versus estimates and identify underlying reasons for any variance and resolutions.
Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
Ensure clients achieve their stated objectives through teamwork, proactive cost control and contractual advice.
Ensure subcontracts are properly prepared and managed to reflect agreed scope, including compliance with all communications, payments, compensation events, and programme submissions.
Ensure all project team members (including site staff) understand contractual arrangements to meet client and partner requirements.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying & Construction Economics or an equivalent degree recognised by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) and/or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Experience in large data centres.
Strong client relationship skills and the ability to leverage opportunities for repeat business.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of various forms of contract used in the construction industry (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, etc.).
Commercial acumen with advanced market and competition knowledge.
Ability to negotiate and deal with conflict, with the capability to critically evaluate documents.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to build client and PQS relationships.
