We're working with a well-established business in the professional services space, who are looking for a confident and friendly Senior Payroll Advisor... or as they word it a "Payroll Superstar" to join their lively and close-knit team. It's a genuinely upbeat and bubbly department - they work hard, enjoy each other's company, and are always ready for a laugh. You'll be supported by experienced colleagues who want to see you succeed, and you'll be encouraged to take full ownership of your work while continuing to develop your payroll expertise.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be looking after your own portfolio of clients, delivering an end-to-end payroll service that includes:
Registering clients for PAYE with HMRC
Setting up new payrolls tailored to client requirements
Processing weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls including bonuses, commissions, pensions, SMP, SSP, and share schemes
Uploading pension contributions and managing benefit reporting (P11D)
Year-end processing and P60 production
Checking balances with HMRC and investigating anomalies
Advising on PSA agreements and controlling payments
Ensuring payrolls are completed accurately and on time
Building strong working relationships with clients and their employees
This is a varied, people-focused role where you'll be a key point of contact for your clients and a valued part of the payroll team.
What We're Looking For:
At least 18 months of hands-on payroll experience
A proactive attitude and a genuine interest in growing within the payroll profession
Someone who enjoys being part of a sociable, friendly team
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Confident communication skills - both with clients and colleagues
A good understanding of UK payroll processes and legislation
Experience with STAR Payroll Professional or cloud-based payroll systems is helpful, but not essential.
