Senior Planner – Up to £50,000 DOE | Hybrid Working | Independent Consultancy

My client is an independent planning consultancy with a strong and growing presence across the UK. Due to continued growth and a well-stocked project pipeline, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Planner to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner who is ready to take on greater responsibility and progress their career in a supportive, collaborative environment.

The Role

You'll be working across a varied caseload with a strong focus on commercial and energy sector projects — two of the most active and interesting areas of planning right now. The geographic remit covers Scotland and the North of England, giving the role real breadth and variety.

Importantly, the pipeline for 2026 is already well-established, meaning there is no immediate pressure to win new business. You'll be able to focus on what you do best — delivering high quality planning work and building strong client relationships.

Day to day, you'll be comfortable managing your own workload and working independently, but you'll also thrive in the collaborative moments — whether that's contributing to team discussions, mentoring junior colleagues, or engaging with clients and stakeholders.

What They're Looking For

  * Proven experience as a Planner, ideally with exposure to commercial and/or energy sector projects

  * Confident working autonomously and managing your own caseload

  * Strong written and verbal communication skills

  * Someone who enjoys being part of a team and contributes positively to the wider culture

  * Ambition to progress — this practice offers a genuine and realistic pathway to Associate level for the right person

The Package

  * Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience

  * Hybrid working — typically 3 days in the office, 2 from home, with flexibility available

  * A clear progression pathway to Associate
