Senior Planner required to join a project delivery teams focused on water projects. The role involves preparing and maintaining detailed, compliant, and realistic programmes from tender documentation through to project closeout. You will develop design programmes where required and ensure all schedules meet contract requirements, updating and submitting them for acceptance as necessary.
Key responsibilities include leading collaborative planning workshops, liaising with project teams to ensure consistency in methodology and outputs, and identifying opportunities and risks during the planning process. You will gather, collate, and distribute progress information, analyse deviations or delays, and maintain baseline programmes to measure progress. Monitoring and revising programmes in response to scope changes is essential.
The role also requires attendance at progress and site meetings to gather information and present programmes for review. You will lead the development of construction phase 4D planning and ensure an As Built programme is available at project closeout. Reporting programme issues to senior management and distributing regular look-ahead programmes are key duties.
Maintaining knowledge of site processes and costs, recording the effects of changes on the contract programme, and assisting with monthly progress reports in line with customer requirements are also part of the role. You will build and maintain strong relationships with Senior Planning Managers, Project Managers, Commercial teams, and client representatives.
Additionally, you will assist with the administration of Primavera P6 planning software and deliver training to new users as required.
Skills
- Advanced experience in preparing and maintaining compliant project programmes
- Strong knowledge of contract requirements and tender documentation interpretation
- Experience in developing design and construction phase programmes, including 4D planning
- Ability to lead collaborative planning workshops and engage with multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficient in identifying programme risks and opportunities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical skills to monitor progress and manage deviations
- Ability to produce and present programme reports clearly
- Experience in site progress monitoring and integration of site data into programmes
- Capability to administer and train others in Primavera P6 software

Certifications & Standards
- Knowledge of relevant contract forms and planning procedures (e.g. NEC) is advantageous but not mandatory
