Job Description

Location: Flexible (Hybrid/Remote) Contract: 3 months (subject to be extended) Key Responsibilities: * Provide expert legal advice on all planning-related matters * Lead on the drafting and negotiation of S106 Agreements and Highways Agreements * Represent the Council at Planning Committees, hearings, and inquiries * Manage complex planning enforcement issues and appeals * Handle a varied caseload, including high-risk and high-profile matters * Ensure all work meets Legal Services’ practice standards Requirements: * Extensive experience in planning law, planning agreements, and highways law * Strong knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and Nutrient Neutrality * Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently * Confident advising at committee level and representing at hearings/inquiries * Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
