Job Title: Portfolio Manager
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + Yearly Bonus + Commission
Location: London, Mayfair
4 days office, 1 day WFH (Thursdays)
My Client: My client is a boutique bridging lender based in Mayfair, London, with a strong track record of delivering innovative financing solutions. Their commitment to excellence and client satisfaction has positioned them as a trusted name in the bridging market. To date, they have disbursed over £235 million across 300 loans.
The role: The Portfolio Manager will be the main point of contact for borrowers once a property-backed loan completes. This role is supported by a Loan Monitoring Officer to ensure comprehensive coverage of the existing loan book — currently at 70 active loans, expected to grow to 100 within the next year.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of loans post-completion to ensure full return of principal and interest
* Manage loans in arrears, covenant breaches, and the receivership process
* Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including borrowers, brokers, funders, receivers, solicitors, auctioneers, and estate agents
* Participate as a member of the Credit Committee
* Ensure ongoing loan compliance with contractual terms
* Assist with payment collection and borrower communication
* Monitor loan performance and escalate early warning signs to senior management
* Support borrowers with their redemption strategy
* Maintain compliance with internal credit and regulatory policies
* Issue formal demands for payment, prepare letters of variation, and calculate redemption statements
* Track and report individual and company-wide key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Maintain accurate records in Excel and the CRM system
Requirements:
* Experience in property loan servicing or portfolio management
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple loans and counterparties
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Ideally experienced with Creditsafe and familiar with Equifax/Experian credit reports
