Our client is a successful and well-established company. Due to growth they are looking for an experienced Senior Plant Operator / Power Plant Supervisor to overlook the management of the power plant staff, and ensure the general operations of the power station run smoothly. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager, and requires strong technical skills, leadership, and a commitment to continuous operational excellence.
As a Senior Operator, you will play a crucial role in the safe, reliable operation and continuous improvement of the production plant. You will monitor and operate plant equipment, mentor and develop Assistant Operators, and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. You will oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the power generation facility, and ensure reliable and efficient power production. This will be a hands-on role where you will lead by example, and you will also be expected to carry out the work of an Operator when required.
Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts, days and nights (18 days off after 8 lots of 4 on 4 off, due to this there is no additional holiday entitlement due to the amount of time off work).
Salary: £44,000 - £49,000 depending on experience.

* You have a full UK driving license and your own transport.
* You have previous experience of working on a power plant / refinery / power station in a Senior / highly experienced Plant Operator position.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor and operate hydrogen plant equipment through control systems ensuring safe and efficient operation
* Conduct regular plant inspections and report findings via management systems
* Enforce adherence to Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health, Safety & Environmental policies
* Carry out operational preventative maintenance tasks as trained and work with other members of the Team as needed
* Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly plant environment
* Mentor, coach, and support Assistant Plant Operators to develop skills and performance
* Provide shift cover as required, including sickness and training periods
* Support shutdowns and special maintenance activities when necessary
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Health & Safety, Technical, Environmental) to resolve operational issues and deliver continuous improvement
* Attend all required training courses and stay up to date with operational and safety standards
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Plant Operator (preferably in fuel production or a related industry; Process Plant, High Pressure Gas).
* Familiarity with HMI, SCADA, DCS, PLC systems
* Competent IT skills
* Full clean driving licence
Desirable (not essential):
* Relevant plant machinery licences (CPCS, forklift, shunter licence) are desirable
* Technical qualifications such as ONC/HNC/OND or City & Guilds Level 3 in related disciplines, desirable
* NEBOSH Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely or other health and safety certification is desirable
* Proactive in driving operational improvements and cost savings
