Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant Location: London Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading global consultancy in their search for a Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant to join their established Environment team, based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the world's most respected engineering, design, and project management consultancies, working across a diverse portfolio of projects that help shape sustainable communities and infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading environmental inputs into complex, high-profile schemes across the UK and internationally. The Role As a Senior / Principal Environmental Consultant, you will work within a multidisciplinary environment, managing and delivering environmental projects across sectors such as infrastructure, transport, energy, and urban development. You'll lead the coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), provide strategic environmental advice, and engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulators to ensure best-practice outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing and delivering complex EIA and environmental planning projects. Leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing environmental deliverables. Providing technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development. Coordinating with design, engineering, and planning teams to ensure environmental considerations are integrated throughout project lifecycles. Preparing environmental statements, technical reports, and client presentations. Supporting bids, proposals, and strategic business growth initiatives. About You Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline. Proven experience managing EIAs and environmental projects, ideally in infrastructure or development. Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body (IEMA, CEnv, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of UK EIA legislation, planning frameworks, and environmental policy. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines. Commercial awareness and confidence in client facing roles. Why Apply?
