Senior / Principal Transport Planner (Consultancy)
MillTech is supporting a renowned consultancy specialising in innovative transportation and urban planning solutions. They are committed to delivering sustainable, efficient, and future-proof transport strategies.
The growing company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior or Principal Transport Planner to lead their transportation planning team and drive key projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the development and delivery of complex transport planning projects, including traffic impact assessments, transport strategies, and multimodal planning
* Provide expert advice to clients, local authorities, and stakeholders on transportation issues.
* Manage project teams, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to deadlines and budgets
* Develop and review transport models, data analysis, and forecasting tools.
* Lead stakeholder engagement and public consultations
* Support business development activities, including preparing proposals and securing new projects
* Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering professional growth within the team
* Keep abreast of industry developments, policy changes, and best practices
Qualifications & experience needed:
* Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field; a relevant master’s degree is preferred
* Chartered Member of the Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) or equivalent professional body
* Proven background in transport planning, with a proven track record leading projects
* Strong knowledge of transport policy, legislation, and standards
* Expertise in transport modelling software (e.g., Vissim, TRICS, SATURN) and GIS tools
* Excellent client management, communication, and presentation skills
* Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
