Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Process Technologist to join our expanding client in the food manufacturing sector, with a particular focus on bakery. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that will see you managing the transition of approved development kitchen samples into successful full-scale production.
You’ll coordinate factory trials, ensure accurate data collection, and collaborate with teams across NPD, Production, Technical, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure products are launched right first time.
Responsibilities
* Plan and manage factory trials from kitchen sample to production scale-up.
* Prepare and coordinate trial paperwork, materials, and resources in advance.
* Work closely with planning, engineering, and production to ensure trial readiness.
* Lead trials on-site, documenting all critical process data (machine settings, bake profiles, weights, Aw/pH, etc).
* Collect and submit samples for shelf-life, nutritional analysis, microbiology, and customer sign-off.
* Ensure traceability and food safety compliance for all new raw materials and equipment.
* Produce detailed trial reports and communicate findings to internal teams.
* Support the NPD team with product launches, documentation, and admin tasks.
* Arrange couriers and manage sample submissions to customers and labs.
* Attend internal and external meetings as required.
Requirements
✅ Proven experience in a Process Technologist role within food manufacturing (bakery preferred)
✅ Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP (minimum Level 3), and hygiene standards
✅ Ability to collect, analyse and present trial data accurately
✅ Excellent organisational and communication skills
✅ Computer literate with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
✅ Flexible, proactive, and collaborative working style
