Senior Procurement Officer
Permanent, full-time opportunity
Hybrid working available, one day onsite per week
Location: Surrey or Sussex
Salary: circa £47,000k per annum
Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for delivering value through procurement? Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Procurement Officer to lead procurement activities across their corporate services category. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape procurement strategy, manage high-value contracts, and drive continuous improvement in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Accountabilities:
· Lead procurement of goods, works, and services to meet operational needs.
· Line manage Procurement Officers/Assistants, including performance management and development.
· Monitor team workload and performance, identifying trends and implementing improvements.
· Prepare and manage high-value, complex contract documentation and tender processes.
· Negotiate contracts to deliver best value and ensure compliance with procurement legislation.
· Provide strategic procurement advice to senior stakeholders.
· Oversee supplier relationships and contract performance.
· Support e-procurement initiatives and represent the organisation at regional/national forums.
· Negotiating contracts that deliver best value and establishing strong relationships with suppliers.
· Providing insightful financial analyses to ensure budgetary compliance and identify potential savings.
· Advising key stakeholders on best practises in procurement.
Candidate Requirements:
· Proven experience in procurement, particularly with high-risk, high-value agreements within complex environments preferably public sector.
· Strong understanding of Procurement Law and compliance requirements.
· Experience in contract management, negotiation, supplier management and performance analysis.
· Exceptional influencing and negotiation abilities, enabling you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
· Full CIPS membership or be willing to complete it.
· A recognised graduate degree or equivalent commercial experience.
· Full UK driving license due to travel requirements.
