I’m partnering with a leading defence organisation in the Bristol area to appoint a Senior Project Control Manager — a role that sits at the heart of some of the UK’s most technically ambitious and strategically significant engineering programmes. If you’re looking for a position where your expertise genuinely shapes outcomes that matter, this is it.
This isn’t a “steady-state” project controls role. You’ll be embedded within major naval programmes, working alongside experienced Project and Programme Managers while leading and developing a capable project controls team. The environment is complex, collaborative and intellectually challenging — the kind of place where strong thinking and clear judgement aren’t just valued, they’re relied upon.
You’ll be building trusted relationships with stakeholders across engineering, commercial, suppliers and customers, ensuring clarity, consistency and confidence across performance data. And you’ll play an active role in strengthening and evolving the project controls capability, not just maintaining what already exists.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
* Owning the project performance measurement baseline — and ensuring it remains the foundation for confident delivery.
* Producing clear, accurate and timely reports that give decision-makers the visibility they need.
* Gathering independent evidence to validate genuine progress against key milestones and success criteria.
* Ensuring project control tools and processes are aligned across partners, subcontractors and internal teams.
* Establishing and maintaining a robust and compliant Earned Value Management system, with transparent reportingBefore You Apply
