Job Description
A leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Witham-based regional team. This division has a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, predominantly in the education sector, with growing momentum in healthcare and life sciences. A significant number of schemes involve remedial and redevelopment works tied to RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) concerns in 1970s-built structures.
You will be joining a high-performing region of the business where SPMs are expected to lead from the front—combining technical capability with boardroom-level professionalism.
The Role:
We’re looking for a confident and capable Senior Project Manager who brings a combination of strong building know-how and strategic leadership. You will be the figurehead of major schemes, typically valued at £30M+, taking full ownership of the pre-construction phase, design development, and commercial performance.
You will be expected to:

Lead from RIBA Stage 2/3 through to delivery and handover
*
Oversee and drive the performance of internal design and commercial teams
*
Run and lead key client and consultant meetings
*
Own digital delivery components and ensure integration of modern methods of construction (MMC) and information management (BIM, CDEs etc.)
*
Take on front-end responsibilities traditionally held by Bid Managers
*
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
*
Ensure projects are delivered safely, to programme, and to a high standard of quality
Requirements:
*
Proven experience delivering new-build schemes of £30M+
*
Strong pre-construction background, including design and commercial oversight
*
Demonstrated leadership in education sector builds (schools, colleges, academies), with healthcare/life sciences experience advantageous
*
Comfortable representing the business in high-level meetings with clients and external teams
*
Ability to lead digital processes and embrace tech-driven delivery
*
Based within commutable distance to Witham and open to managing projects across Essex
