Project Manager – A417 Missing Link Project (GL4 8JX)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to lead operations on the A417 Missing Link Project, based near Gloucester (GL4 8JX).
This is a high-profile infrastructure scheme where experience in bridge construction, formwork, RECKLI and temporary works is essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with a solid technical background and proven site-based leadership skills.

* Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and commercial aspects of large-scale civil engineering works.

Role Responsibilities:
* Site Establishment & Mobilisation:
Oversee the initial site setup, ensuring full compliance with H&S legislation, including the installation of safety signage, welfare facilities, PPE protocols, and site operational standards from day one.
* Team Deployment & Oversight:
Work along key site personnel (black hats, foremen, supervisors) and ensure clarity of responsibilities aligned with programme milestones and scope of work.
* Compliance & Safety:
Confirm that site operatives are working in accordance with approved RAMS and using correctly maintained and certified equipment. Enforce safe working practices across all tasks to ensure all site HSE operations carry out inductions, RAMS briefings, start-of-shift briefings, and toolbox talks. Monitor compliance and proactively address unsafe behaviours or conditions.
* Routine Inspections & Reporting to ensure weekly checks have been carried out.
Complete weekly inspections and statutory returns, ensuring full compliance with company policies and legal obligations (e.g., plant, equipment, scaffold checks).
* Quality Assurance & Control:
Manage all aspects of quality control through Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), high class RECKLI finish, pre-pour/post-pour documentation, and adherence to technical specifications and drawings.
* Material Procurement & Logistics:
Coordinate the timely ordering and delivery of materials, liaising with both internal (TVC yard) and external suppliers to support construction progress.
* Temporary Works Coordination:
Develop and submit Temporary Works Design Briefs. Liaise with PERI (or other temporary works designers), review working drawings, and supervise installations in line with approved designs.
* Lifting Operations Oversight:
Prepare and submit lift plans, ensure all lifting gear is certified, and appoint a qualified lifting team. Coordinate lifting activities in accordance with project-specific risk controls.
* Programme & Planning Control:
Monitor the master programme, and work alongside the planner, assess internal resource requirements, and issue weekly progress reports alongside fortnightly look-ahead schedules for internal planning.
* Client Interface & Progress Reporting:
Act as the primary site liaison with the client. Attend coordination meetings, provide detailed updates on TVC's scope, and issue accurate meeting minutes.
* Commercial Awareness & Change Management:
Track site resources against budget allowances. Inform the Quantity Surveyor of changes, submit CVIs promptly, and ensure proper commercial documentation is maintained.
* Incident Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
Report near misses, NCRs, and safety incidents. Participate in root cause analysis and share lessons learned to drive improvement across future projects.
