A great opportunity for an Senior QA Technologist to join a growing Ecommerce Retailer in the Worsley area. They sell a variety of trend led product for the home and apparel. From Bedding to throws, cushions to loungewear. Due to strong trading figures and company investment they are seeking to add to their Technologist team.
Description
Conduct comprehensive Red & Gold Seal assessments for product categories, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards within your category areas.
Review and approve product specifications providing advice on quality control measures and test plans in your category area.
Identify potential risks early and work collaboratively with product development team and suppliers to implement effective mitigation strategies.
Work closely with the product development teams to integrate quality standards at the inception stage of new products.
Address non-conformities by working closely with suppliers to implement appropriate corrective actions.
Assess and review technical documentation, including material datasheets, regulatory declarations, and product certifications.
Ensure materials and components used in product development align with regulatory and safety standards.
Maintain a comprehensive compliance database for all product categories & packaging requirements (including sealing comments and testing results).
Plan, coordinate, and oversee external lab testing for UK & EU markets.
Maintain a proactive approach to product safety by staying informed about emerging risks and regulatory updates.
Ensure all packaging, labelling, and declarations meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Liaise with customer care team to ensure that any non-conformities are identified at the earliest possible instance.
Oversee and manage the workload for the junior members within the QA team.
Review & approve safety claims and create instructional materials to align with compliance standards.
Ensure technical & ethical audit documentation for the company supplier base is up to date and recorded in line with company requirements.
Develop and update internal compliance policies and procedures. Work closely with internal stakeholders in online and distribution centre teams.
Lead efforts to resolve quality, safety, and compliance issues in collaboration with internal teams and suppliers.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product safety and quality assurance.
Be the primary business point of contact for trading standards & assist with any questions and queries they have.
Stay updated on evolving global compliance regulations and communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders.Profile
Highly organised
Strong communication skills and experience communicating with multiple different stakeholders within the business.
Solid commercial awareness and understanding of the supply chain
3 years and above industry experience in either a QA or similar related role.
Proven experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in furniture and homeware goods.
Ability to assess technical documentation and recommend appropriate risk analysis and safety tests.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Experience in managing a team is preferable.
IT skills including Excel.Job Offer
