Quantity Surveyor (Future Commercial Manager)
East London | Major Residential & Mixed-Use Project | Sept 2025
An opportunity to join a well-established developer delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use communities across London.
You'll take commercial ownership of a flagship scheme in East London, reporting into the Commercial Manager but trusted to run your own project with full financial accountability. This is a mid-to-senior level QS role with a clear path towards Commercial Manager.
The Role
•Commercial lead on a major residential development
•Set up budgets, procure trade packages, and manage contractor accounts
•Review drawing changes, approve site instructions, and drive value engineering opportunities
•Produce valuation reports and present quarterly cost updates to the Board
•Prepare contract documentation and ensure accuracy across all commercial processes
•Collaborate closely with Design, Construction, Technical, Sales, and Finance teams
•Delegate and oversee work of junior commercial staff where applicable
What they're looking for
•Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (main contractor, developer, or consultancy background)
•Comfortable running a live project independently, with strong commercial acumen
•Skilled in procurement, cost reporting, and final accounts under JCT Design & Build contracts
•Good all-round construction knowledge with the ability to challenge design and drive value
•Confident communicator, able to engage with both project teams and board level
