Job Description
My client, based in the South East, is a leading company in the supply of essential oils and flavours into the flavour, fragrance and food sectors. They are now looking to recruit a Senior QC Analyst to their team. The role would suit an experienced Quality Control Analyst with experience within the flavour, fragrance, or wider chemicals sector, who is ambitious and looking to progress their career, with the potential for rapid career development for the right person.
Role
Working as part of the Quality Control team, you will be responsible for:
* Performing analysis of starting materials, intermediates and finished products in accordance with written procedures.
* Sampling and inspecting all in-coming packaging components against agreed sampling procedures and specifications. Raising a "Non-conformance" report if any material is outside of specification
* Testing all physical parameters for all finished product samples against the specification. To liaise with the Laboratory Supervisor/QA Manager on all aspects of results obtained which show deviance from the specification.
* Proposing improvements to analytical methods or working practices and participate in department and company improvement projects.
* Performing calibration checks in accordance with written procedures
* Performing calculation checks on analysis records.
* As a Senior QC Analyst, you will be responsible for managing the more inexperienced members of the team.
Requirements:
* You will have a degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, and ideally a Masters or PhD qualification
* You will have 5+ years analytical laboratory experience, ideally working with essential oils, flavours, fragrances or other ingredients and have experience in analytical trouble shooting.
* Experience with wet chemical techniques
* Preparation of volumetric solutions and dilutions
* Chromatographic and Spectroscopic Analysis
* Analytical trouble shooting
* An understanding of GMP/ Pharmacopeia and expereince working with API’s and REACH
* Experience of working within Quality Control in the Flavours, Fragrance, Essential Oils or Chemicals IndustryBefore You Apply
