Job Description
Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Westerham, Kent
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum plus 5% annual bonus
Department: Quality (Single-person role)
We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to take full ownership of our Quality Management System (QMS) in a standalone capacity. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone confident in managing all aspects of quality control, compliance, and continuous improvement, with a working knowledge of ISO 9001.
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Quality Engineer:
Maintain and continually improve the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance and readiness for audits.
Act as the primary contact for all quality-related matters, including internal and external audits, certification bodies, and customer quality requirements.
Develop, review, and update quality procedures, policies, and documentation.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances.
Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits.
Monitor key quality metrics and present findings to management.
Liaise closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain to maintain consistent product and service quality.
Skills & Experience Required as a Senior Quality Engineer:
Proven experience as a Senior Quality Engineeror Quality Engineer in a manufacturing/production environment.
In-depth knowledge and practical application of ISO 9001:2015.
Experience in running a QMS in a standalone capacity.
Strong auditing skills (internal auditor qualification preferred).
Excellent problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Strong communication and influencing skills, able to work cross-functionally.
Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive, self-sufficient approach.
