Job Description
An established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major decarbonisation project in the Brighton area. The scheme forms part of a wider programme to modernise and future-proof key assets, with a strong focus on sustainability, carbon reduction, and energy efficiency.
Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for project delivery under a Design Delivery Partner (DDP) framework. You will work closely with the project and design teams to manage cost forecasting, subcontract procurement, and contractual administration while ensuring the project is delivered to budget and in line with agreed programme milestones.
Responsibilities
• Oversee all commercial and contractual aspects of a major decarbonisation project
• Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and administration under NEC contracts
• Provide accurate cost forecasting, change management, and monthly financial reporting
• Support project delivery teams in identifying and mitigating commercial risks
• Prepare and review applications for payment, variations, and compensation events
• Maintain strong relationships with the client and framework partners to ensure collaborative delivery
• Lead commercial input into project progress meetings and design coordination sessions
Candidate Requirements
• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, energy, or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ideally Option C
• Experience working within design and build or alliance-style delivery models (DDP/PPP) advantageous
• Excellent commercial, analytical, and communication skills
• Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferredBefore You Apply
