My client, a national Tier 1 main contractor who operate in the new-build construction sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Tyne & Wear. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong name and excellent reputation in the construction industry.
Your main duties will include:
* Reporting to the commercial manager, you will be responsible for several projects smaller projects at one time or one larger scheme up to £30m
* Working alongside the operations and site delivery team to ensure project viability and cost effectiveness
* Monitor and report all project costs/finances
* Cash-flow forecasting
* Sub-contractor, labour and materials management (placing orders, invoices, price negotiation etc)
* Be responsible for cost changes and monitoring throughout the life cycle of the project
* Final accounts
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* Experience of working in a main-contracting environment
* Have worked on new-build projects valued up to and over, £15m
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Be proficient with IT
