Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role
Talented People are recruiting on behalf of a respected civil engineering and infrastructure contractor seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team in Eastleigh. The successful candidate will take ownership of all commercial and contractual aspects of key projects, ensuring cost efficiency, risk management, and client satisfaction at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all commercial aspects of construction and infrastructure projects.
* Work within company policies, procedures, and integrated management systems.
* Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
* Lead commercial input throughout all stages of project delivery.
* Monitor budgets, costs, and financial performance.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks.
* Prepare and submit accurate applications for payment.
* Recover retentions in accordance with contractual terms.
* Procure subcontractors competitively and manage performance.
* Negotiate contract variations to maximise project returns.
* Review project costs and forecasts with operational teams.
* Ensure compliance with contract requirements and company policies.
* Support procurement strategies and ensure timely implementation.
* Lead commercial reporting and progress reviews.
* Contribute to tender reviews and cost planning.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
* Deputise for the Managing Quantity Surveyor when required.
* Promote collaboration and effective communication across departments.
* Identify opportunities for added value and commercial improvement.
Skills and Experience Required
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or construction.
* Excellent understanding of NEC and other standard forms of contract.
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Commercially astute with excellent financial management ability.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sitesBefore You Apply
