Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (High-Spec Residential)
Oxford | Up to £85,000 + Excellent Package
Are you a commercially driven Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of luxury residential projects with a respected Oxford-based main contractor? This is a standout opportunity to join a growing, design-focused business delivering prestige new-build and refurbishment schemes across Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.
The Role
As Senior QS, you’ll take full commercial responsibility for 1–2 live projects, typically valued between £3m–£15m. You’ll ensure each scheme is delivered to budget while maintaining the exceptional quality the company is known for. Working closely with the Project Lead and senior leadership team, you will oversee procurement, cost planning, subcontractor management, valuations and all financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial function on high-spec residential projects
*
Prepare cost plans, BOQs and tender documentation
*
Manage procurement and negotiate subcontract packages
*
Deliver monthly valuations, CVRs, forecasting and risk management
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain
*
Ensure rigorous cost control from pre-construction through to project completion
About You
*
Experienced Senior QS, or an established QS ready for progression
*
Strong background working for a main contractor, ideally on high-end residential or technically complex builds
*
Excellent technical knowledge, commercial awareness and attention to detail
*
Confident communicator with the ability to lead and influence commercially
*
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management
