Senior Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks – Halifax - £70k + Package

My client is about to start on site with a brand new £10m groundworks package for a new build housing site in Halifax. They are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a commercial lead on this major project as well as provide input into a further smaller scheme in Pudsey.

This project will guarantee local work for 4 years, working for a well‑established civil engineering and groundworks subcontractor with a strong pipeline of residential work across the region.

The successful candidate will be the commercial driver on the project, overseeing all financial, contractual and cost‑control elements from pre‑construction through to final account. This is an opportunity to join a growing business where your expertise will directly influence project performance and company success.

  * Full commercial management of a £10m groundworks package on a large housing development

  * Procurement of subcontractors, materials and plant

  * Managing valuations, variations, CVRs and forecasting

  * Ensuring accurate cost control and reporting to senior management

  * Working closely with site teams to monitor progress and manage change

  * Negotiating with clients, main contractors and supply chain partners

  * Preparing and agreeing final accounts

  * Supporting junior commercial staff where required
