Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well-established North West construction contractor delivering projects across the commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, residential and public sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Wigan.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior management and directors, taking commercial responsibility for multiple projects valued between £500k and £15m.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring schemes are delivered profitably whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  * Managing project budgets, forecasts and monthly CVRs

  * Preparing and agreeing interim valuations

  * Procuring and managing subcontract packages

  * Assessing subcontractor applications and final accounts

  * Managing variations, contractual notices and final accounts

  * Administering JCT contracts

  * Identifying and mitigating commercial risks

  * Reporting to senior management on project performance

  * Attending client and project meetings

  * Mentoring junior members of the commercial team

Requirements

  * Minimum 8 years' Quantity Surveying experience

  * Previous Main Contractor experience

  * Strong knowledge of JCT contracts

  * Proven ability to manage projects independently

  * Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills

  * Experience producing CVRs and cost reporting

  * Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

  * RICS membership or working towards chartership

  * NEC contract experience
