Senior Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer

Hertfordshire / Essex

Up to £80k plus package

A growing and well-established SME residential developer is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

The business has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable residential developments across Hertfordshire and Essex and has a strong pipeline of upcoming projects.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to join a smaller developer where they can take ownership of their projects, have genuine input into the business and work closely with the senior management team.

The Role

  * Full commercial responsibility for residential developments.

  * Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.

  * Preparing tender documentation and analysing subcontractor returns.

  * Managing subcontractor valuations, payments and variations.

  * Producing monthly cost reports, CVRs and forecasts.

  * Monitoring project budgets and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

  * Managing variations and change control.

  * Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.

  * Working closely with construction and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.

  * Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial targets.

The Candidate

  * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.

  * Residential developer/housebuilder experience preferred.

  * Strong knowledge of residential construction.

  * Experience commercially managing developments from procurement through to final account.

  * Strong subcontractor procurement and negotiation experience.

  * Good understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs.

  * Commercially aware with the ability to take ownership of projects.

  * Comfortable working within a smaller, hands-on developer environment.
