Senior Quantity Surveyor – Taunton

Are you a commercially sharp Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a role with real influence, long‑term regional projects, and a business that genuinely backs its people? This is a major opportunity to join a leading engineering & infrastructure contractor delivering high‑value schemes across the South West.

The Role

You’ll take full commercial responsibility for multi‑million‑pound projects, driving cost control, forecasting, and client relationships. Working closely with operational teams, you’ll shape commercial strategy and ensure projects deliver strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Lead commercial management across major engineering and M&E projects

  * 

    Produce valuations, variations, cost plans, and final accounts

  * 

    Deliver accurate forecasting and commercial reporting

  * 

    Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

  * 

    Mentor junior QS staff and support team development

  * 

    Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and company processes

What You’ll Need

  * 

    Proven experience as a Senior QS in construction, engineering, M&E, or infrastructure

  * 

    Strong NEC contract knowledge

  * 

    Excellent negotiation and analytical skills

  * 

    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

  * 

    A proactive, commercially driven approach
