Job Description

£30m Project | Tier 2 Main Contractor | Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a £30m office-to-residential conversion for a well-established and growing Tier 2 Main Contractor.

The project is being delivered under a Permitted Development scheme, converting an existing commercial office building into a high-quality residential development.

This is a genuine lead Senior Quantity Surveyor position, taking full commercial responsibility for the project from the early stages through to final account.

The Role

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the complete commercial management of the £30m scheme, including:

  * Taking commercial ownership of the project

  * Procurement and management of subcontract packages

  * Cost planning, forecasting and reporting

  * Managing valuations, variations and change

  * Subcontractor negotiations and payments

  * Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team

  * Identifying and managing commercial risk

  * Maintaining strong relationships with the client and supply chain

  * Driving commercial performance throughout the project

  * Managing the project through to final account

The Candidate

We are looking for a commercially strong Senior Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable taking the lead on a major project.

Ideally, you will have:

  * Main contractor experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level

  * Experience delivering projects in the £15m–£30m+ range

  * Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial management

  * The confidence to operate as the commercial lead on a project

  * Experience managing a scheme from procurement through delivery and final account
