Job Description

Experienced Quantity Surveyor – Glasgow

Joinery Sub-Contractor | Glasgow | Permanent

Our client is an established and growing joinery sub-contractor based in Glasgow, delivering high-quality joinery packages with commercial clients throughout Central Scotland.

Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account.

The Role

The successful candidate will have strong experience within the construction industry, ideally gained within joinery, fit-out or subcontracting.

Your responsibilities will include:

  * Managing the commercial aspects of multiple joinery projects.

  * Preparing and reviewing tenders, quotations and cost plans.

  * Pricing and agreeing variations.

  * Preparing applications for payment and valuations.

  * Managing subcontractor and supplier accounts.

  * Preparing and agreeing final accounts.

  * Monitoring project costs, budgets and margins.

  * Reviewing contracts and identifying commercial risks.

  * Liaising with main contractors, clients, project managers and site teams.

  * Negotiating variations, claims and commercial settlements.

  * Providing regular commercial reporting to senior management.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing projects and building strong relationships with clients and main contractors.

You will ideally have:

  * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.

  * Previous experience working for a subcontractor.

  * Joinery, fit-out or interiors experience is highly desirable.

  * Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.

  * Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  * Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

  * The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

  * A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
