Do you currently hold active DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance, or are you willing and eligible to undergo the DV clearance process as a sole UK national? If your answer is yes, we would love to hear from you so please read on for further information and get in touch now to avoid missing out!  The Opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a confidential defence infrastructure project as part of the MoD’s long-term delivery Framework. This is a unique opportunity to play a key commercial role on a secure, £multi-million construction programme using NEC4 contracts. The role is based on-site near Reading four days per week, with occasional travel to London (2-3 days per week as required). Your duties and responsibilities will be: Act as a commercial and contractual lead within a multi-functional project delivery team. Collaborate with external consultants to ensure accurate cost assurance and financial deliverables. Develop and support evidence-based business cases for defence infrastructure investment. Produce and maintain robust cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts. Provide oversight and assurance of contractor cost data, ensuring transparency and accuracy. Identify value engineering opportunities and optimise contract performance. Contribute to monthly cost and progress meetings. Champion public sector objectives, ensuring value for money across all activities. Guide early-stage ideas through feasibility and commercial planning stages. Validate cost data to meet audit and assurance requirements. Manage change control processes in alignment with NEC contract principles. Drive commercial awareness across the project team. Support dispute resolution processes and assist in contract close-out. Review and assess commercial agreements and procurement strategies in line with NEC contract requirements.You will have the following skills & experience: Minimum 10 years of experience on £multi-million infrastructure projects. Strong track record in quantity surveying, estimating, or procurement for civil engineering/infrastructure. Deep understanding of NEC3/4 contracts. Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to challenge cost estimates constructively. Clear understanding of the interdependency between cost, schedule, and risk. Proven ability to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders. Comfortable operating autonomously in high-security and fast-paced environments. Effective communicator, capable of presenting complex financial data to non-specialist audiences. Qualifications BSc in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. Chartered status with RICS or CIOB (preferred). Additional Requirements: Sole UK National (non-dual nationality) – due to project security requirements. DV Clearance (Developed Vetting) – existing clearance preferred, but willingness to undergo clearance process is essential. Full UK Driving Licence – regular travel between sites is required.
