Job Title:Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location:West Midlands
Thorn Baker is teaming up with a growing 5-star house builderwho have four exciting new projects kicking off in the West Midlands this year. They are looking for an experiencedSenior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. Committed to the highest standards of design, construction, and service this is an opportunity to work with an incredibly successful company with over 85 years' experience across the UK.

Your Responsibilities:
Cascades information in a positive way to staff at all levels
Ability to resolve conflict and build respect between multi-disciplinary teams
Encourages inter-team collaboration as well as with off-site functions
Strong communication and excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Sets challenging goals for self and others to achieve
Takes difficult decisions as necessary
Quality of Service Provision
Understand economic factors that affects the construction industry

Required Skills:
Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying for a housing developer
Valid CSCS card and UK driving licence
Working knowledge of construction and contract law along with various forms of Conditions of Contract.
Significant knowledge of construction techniques on particular projects.
BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
Practical application of Microsoft Office - predominantly Excel
Experience of using a cost system i.e. Oracle or similar
