Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to work on varied and high-profile projects across the Industrial and Defence sectors? We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team, based from their Plymouth depot.
Purpose of the role:
To ensure the company receives fair entitlement to all amounts due whilst ensuring good governance and project controls are maintained. To also provide a clear and accurate profit and loss position each month along with the anticipated final forecast.
About the Role:
The QS will be working on a variety of contracts supporting our Industrial and Defence Business Units. Reporting to the Commercial Manager and independent of the site operations team the QS will ensure good governance and project controls are maintained. The QS will work collaboratively with the Project Manager and site teams to verify progress, control expenditure, and ensure the company’s financial objectives are met whilst delivering a first-class service to the customer.
The Quantity Surveyor will be the Customer’s Day to day point of contact for all commercial matters on the contract.
Key Responsibilities
• Site measurement of progressed works
• Accurate reporting of progress and contract position
• Maintaining accurate cost accruals
• Production of estimates and pricing work
• Preparation, submission and agreement of valuations
• Raising Invoices
• Maintaining accurate WIP accruals
• Managing Sub-Contractor accounts
• Timely capture and agreement of contract variations with customers
• Preparation of accurate Cost vs Revenue reports as part of the month end process
What Were Looking For:
• Experience of carrying out QS duties working in the Industrial Sector is preferable but not essential.
• A Quantity Surveying degree is desirable but not essential for a candidate who can demonstrate the required skills and experience having held a similar role with a leading Industrial Services business or PQS practice.
• A proactive flexible approach
• Good Excel/Microsoft 365 skills
