An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a civil engineering contractor delivering critical upgrade works at one of London’s most iconic stations.
This role offers a high-profile setting, working on a multi-disciplinary programme of works focused on rail infrastructure, structural upgrades, and station redevelopment. As a key commercial lead on-site, you’ll work closely with both the project and commercial teams to maintain control of costs, contracts, and reporting — while supporting efficient project delivery in a complex live environment.
The Role
*
Commercial oversight of key work packages across civil and structural disciplines.
*
Preparation and submission of interim valuations, final accounts, and cost forecasts.
*
Management of subcontract procurement and ongoing commercial administration.
*
Active involvement in contract management, primarily under NEC forms.
*
Identification and mitigation of risk, while ensuring opportunities are captured.
*
Collaboration with project managers and client-side teams to ensure commercial alignment and compliance.
*
Tracking of project performance through robust CVRs and internal reporting tools.
*
Supporting junior team members where required and working closely with the Commercial Manager.
Requirements
*
Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS on infrastructure projects.
*
Experience working on high-profile, high-footfall sites or live environments.
*
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (Particularly option C)
*
Demonstrated ability in cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
*
Confident communicator with both site teams and client stakeholders.
*
Proficient in managing change control and final accounts.
Desirable
*
Experience managing subcontracts with design teams and an understanding of how design risk can be commercially controlled.
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
*
Working towards or holding RICS membership.
*
Previous experience delivering station or transport hub upgrades.
*
Knowledge of London Underground or Network Rail procedures is an advantage.
