Job Description
Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Groundworks & RC Frame Specialist
* Permanent: up to £80,000 + Package
* Based in Northwest London
We are currently searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is a guru in the Groundworks and RC Frame sector. The role will be working with a very accomplished subcontractor who has national reach and works with several leading main contractors who keep them very busy. The majority of their builds are mid to high-rise residential schemes but they also work across commercial schemes.
The role:
* To liaise and collaborate with the Commercial Manager and Project Manager and construction teams in all aspects of our contractual activities.
* To run the projects commercially with support from junior and senior staff
* To represent and serve the best interests of the company to meet client expectations and encourage repeat business.
* Liaise with the estimators at handover
* Prepare the cost/value reconciliation reports accurately and in accordance with company procedure.
* Prepare and agree interim valuations at the agreed dates.
* Prepare, and in conjunction with senior management agree final account with client’s representative.
* Manage job-specific procurement
* Ensure subcontract orders are prepared in accordance with company procedure with reference to the date given on the procurement schedules and /or in accordance with the contract programme having achieved the appropriate approvals.
* Maintain control of subcontractor’s accounts and minimise the cost of any variations.
* Reviewing weekly productivity of teams.
* Monitoring/scrutinising of weekly costs and productivities, and reporting on same
* Highlighting areas of concern/loss on any part of the contract
* Monitoring of contract charges and notification to sub-contractors.
* Sub-contractor re-measurement, interim and final account payments.
* Compiling the variation log and signing off on variations with Client Project Q.S.
* Cost monitoring and reporting
* Cash flow forecasting for projects and issuing monthly reports to the commercial manager.
Required:
* 7+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Extensive experience working with Groundworks & RC Frame subcontractors
* Professionally qualified
