Senior Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Role (Somerset)

Mech Tech is currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a permanent position based in Somerset. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, competitive PAYE day rate, and long-term career development within the industrial services sector.
You’ll be supporting a major infrastructure project in Somerset, contributing to the delivery of large-scale industrial works involving mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering packages. The project is part of a multi-billion-pound investment in the region, with a focus on energy, manufacturing, and sustainable technologies.
Role Details
* Working Pattern: Hybrid (2 days home / 3 days site)
* Hours: 40 per week | Monday–Friday
* Rate: £550–£650/day PAYE
* Contract Type: PAYE
* Overtime: Available
Key Responsibilities
* Manage commercial activities on site
* Prepare and submit EWNs, CEs, and applications for payment
* Draft, negotiate, and administer subcontracts
* Support project forecasting, CVRs, and reporting
* Drive profitability while managing risk
* Mentor and support junior team members
Candidate Requirements
* Post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience (essential)
* NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge (desirable)
* Industrial services or engineering background
* Degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
* Valid CCNSG or CSCS MAPS/Operatives card
