Job Description
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Clyde with hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the commercial management of designated projects.
Manage procurement and subcontract packages, including preparation of tender documentation, evaluation, and contract negotiation.
Administer NEC contracts (and other standard forms), including change management, variations, and claims.
Prepare, manage, and agree interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
Produce accurate monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and cash flow reports.
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and reporting requirements.
Provide commercial advice and support to project teams and senior management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, supply chain, and internal stakeholders.
Mentor and support junior commercial staff as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience).
Chartered or working toward professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, ICES).
Proven experience as a QS / Senior QS on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of NEC contract forms and contract administration.
Track record in procurement, cost management, and commercial reporting.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
Proficient in relevant financial/commercial systems.
Eligibility for security clearance (due to defence site requirements).Desirable:
Previous experience on defence, nuclear, or highly regulated infrastructure projects.
