Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor Manchester We're working with a respected multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Manchester that's looking to bring an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor into their established team. With a strong presence across the North West and a diverse portfolio of clients, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to progress into a leadership role while remaining hands-on with key projects. About the Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering cost consultancy services across a mix of residential, public sector, and fire safety projects, including social housing, education, heritage, and local authority schemes. You'll work directly with clients and design teams from inception through to completion, ensuring value, quality, and commercial control throughout. You'll also be expected to support the development of junior staff and take ownership of your own projects, reporting to the Associate QS. Key Responsibilities Work closely within a collaborative Quantity Surveying team, reporting to the Associate QS. Take ownership of key local projects, managing them with minimal supervision. Lead and attend site and design team meetings, providing clear cost advice and progress updates to clients. Ensure all project documentation is managed and maintained in line with QA procedures. Deliver cost advice aligned with RICS standards, including estimates, viability assessments, cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and whole life costings. Prepare and manage key project documents, including contracts and tender packages, and oversee the tendering process. Handle all aspects of post-contract cost management, including valuing variations, assessing claims, producing cost reports, and agreeing final accounts. Support the development of junior team members through mentoring and guidance.
